New Jersey’s social calendar is jam-packed with a variety of festivals and events. Tune out for the following events that will keep your year in New Jersey fun and exciting.

  1. Miss America

    The quintessential beauty pageant in the United States, Miss America now not only takes into account its candidates looks but heart and intelligence as well. The Miss America pageant was founded in Atlantic City, and after a brief stint in Las Vegas, is back to the iconic boardwalk of Atlantic City for good.

    The Miss America pageant is held every January, with preliminary rounds taking place a couple of months before.

  2. Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival

    Another highly anticipated New Jersey event that takes place in Atlantic City is the Beer and Music Festival. Hailed as the “Celebration of the Suds,” the Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival is one of the largest beer festivals in the country, attracting over 90 breweries across the United States. Of course, there is good food and great music by some of the best chefs and acts in the country.

    Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival is usually held every April.

  3. Lambertville Shad Festival

    Held every April in the city of Lamberville, the Lambertville Shad Festival is all about shining the spotlight on the region’s arts and culture community. A local art show is the main highlight of the festival, featuring nationally recognized works of art by the region’s finest artists. Other activities include a variety of entertainment for kids and fundraisers to support local nonprofit organizations.

  4. Wildwoods International Kite Festival

    Known as the largest kite festival in North America, the Wildwoods International Kite Festival is a spectacular show featuring some of the largest kites from all over the globe. Come nighttime, the night sky is speckled with dazzling displays from illuminated kites. Other activities include kite exhibits, kite-making workshops, an auction, as well as kite championships. Wildwoods International Kite Festival is held every May in the city of Wildwood.

  5. Riverfest Food and Music Festival

    Widely considered as the biggest food and music festival in New Jersey, the Riverfest Food and Music Festival is a three-day extravaganza featuring scenic river cruises, great music, and the best food from the area. A bevy of family-friendly activities are include in the day-to-day lineup, complete with rides and games. As for local artists, Riverfest Food and Music Festival also has an “Artisan’s Alley,” where they are free to showcase and sell their works.

    Riverfest Food and Music Festival takes place around the last week of May or early June in the city of Red Bank.

  6. NJ Seafood Festival

    Do you love seafood? Then you better not miss the NJ Seafood Festival, which is held every June in the city of Belmar. The annual NJ Seafood Festival is attended by the best seafood chefs as well as arts and crafts experts in the country. Taste local favorites, such as lobster, shrimp, and calamari, and test your adventurous side by sampling sushi and alligator sausage. Hundreds of thousands of seafood lovers make the annual trip to Belmar for this, making the NJ Seafood Festival one of the top events in North America.
